Program Description
At Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, a diverse workforce improves our ability to serve the needs of our clients and creates a more dynamic workplace for our attorneys. As a result, diversity and inclusion have always been—and continue to be—a cornerstone of our firm. We also work hard to foster an inclusive environment where all of our lawyers can thrive and contribute fully and authentically to all aspects of firm life.
Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP’s 2L Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship recognizes the achievements of, and supports the pipeline for, outstanding law students from diverse backgrounds. The scholarship will be awarded to select participants in our 2L summer program in the amount of up to $25,000 (less applicable taxes and withholdings) and will be paid in two installments. The first $15,000 of the scholarship will be paid after the student begins summer employment, and the balance of $10,000 will be paid when the student starts as a full‐time associate at the firm and is contingent upon receiving a full-time offer and becoming a full-time associate at the firm.
Additional Program Requirements
All candidates must be second‐year law students in good standing pursuing a J.D. at an ABA‐accredited law school. Successful candidates will have a record of academic achievement, employment and community service indicating great potential to excel in the legal profession and contribute to the diversity of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP and the legal community. Candidates may include, but are not limited to, members of racial or ethnic minority groups, first-generation college or law school students, veterans, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ students, and students from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds.
