For the third consecutive year, Munger, Tolles & Olson was named a California Powerhouse by Law360. As one of five California firms that “have each packed a punch over the past year,” the firm was recognized for winning multiple victories on behalf of clients across various industries.”
In its Sept. 9, 2019 profile, Law360 highlighted several of the firm’s “knockout blows” from the previous year, including:
- obtaining for major Hollywood studios a $62 million verdict in a copyright dispute with VidAngel and $25 million in a copyright row with TickBox;
- winning a trial for Rent-A-Center involving the termination of a proposed merger; and
- winning an appeal for CompPartners protecting service providers and doctors from tort claims brought under the California’s workers’ compensation laws.
Law360 also showcased how the firm encourages and provides opportunities to young lawyers by giving them meaningful work and roles in cases. The publication described the firm’s approach as “a point of pride for Munger Tolles and an enduring feature of its low-leverage model.”
