Diversity Lab announced on September 14, 2021 that Munger, Tolles & Olson once again attained Mansfield Certification Plus status, the highest level of certification available, for the fourth consecutive year.
Our firm was recognized for demonstrating an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and for our meaningful progress in diversifying law firm leadership.
We achieved this status after completing a rigorous Mansfield Rule 4.0 12-month certification program. Mansfield Rule Certification measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered at least 30 percent women, underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions. To attain Certification Plus status, the firm had to not only meet these pipeline consideration requirements, but further successfully reach at least 30 percent underrepresented lawyer representation in a notable number of our current leadership roles.
“I’m proud that, for the fourth year in a row, Munger Tolles has achieved Certification Plus status,” says partner Rose Leda Ehler, who spearheaded the implementation of the Mansfield Rule. “Our industry needs committed and consistent progress toward advancing diversity in leadership positions and our firm has once again demonstrated both that commitment and the results.”
Of the 4.0 Certification recognition, Diversity Lab says, “Despite the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, the Mansfield Rule certified firms have not deviated from their goal of ensuring that law firm leadership reflects the rich diversity of the profession. We are enormously proud to work with such a committed group of firms."
