Litigation partner Martin Estrada participated in “Hot Issues in Investigations,” a round table discussion co-sponsored by the ABA White Collar Crime Committee, Southern California Regional Subcommittee; the Hispanic National Bar Association Criminal Division and the Women's White Collar Defense Association on March 31.
Hosted by FTI Consulting Inc.'s Risk & Investigations Practice, Estrada was one of four speakers at the event, which focused on the most urgent and significant investigative issues companies are facing in 2022 and recommendations on best practices.
Speakers discussed the emerging priorities of the Biden Administration, new regulations regarding digital assets, best practices for interacting with regulators and how outside counsel can impress their in-house counterparts.
In addition to Estrada, other speakers included: Alexia Romero, managing counsel at the Office of Compliance and Integrity Investigations at Google/Alphabet, Stephanie Tennant, lead counsel of Compliance at Meta/Facebook and Miguel Salcedo, director of Risk & Investigations at FTI Consulting. The panel was moderated by Xochitl Arteaga, Managing Director at FTI Consulting.
Specializing in complex litigation and investigations, Estrada is a former federal prosecutor and was recently named a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Estrada has tried over 30 federal and state trials and arbitrations, argued over a dozen appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals and conducted hundreds of investigations.
