Munger, Tolles & Olson corporate partner Jennifer M. Broder was recognized as a “Rising Star in M&A” by The Deal on March 27, 2019. Ms. Broder was one of 21 lawyers selected as “the most promising M&A partners of 2019.”
Ms. Broder’s recent transactions include representing Oaktree Capital Group in its pending $4.7 billion partial sale to Brookfield Asset Management; BDT Capital Partners in its investment in the $7.5 billion acquisition of Panera Bread Company with majority investor Joh. A. Benckiser (JAB); and The Yucaipa Companies as shareholder in the $725 million IPO of Americold Realty Trust and subsequent $1.4 billion underwritten public offerings of its remaining Americold shares.
The Deal notes that Ms. Broder began her career “at the pinnacle of corporate law” as a clerk for the Honorable Leo E. Strine Jr., then chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery and currently the chief justice of the Delaware Supreme Court. Ms. Broder’s career has since “lived up to the promise that start suggests,” wrote The Deal.
“From the first time I met her, I was struck by Jennifer’s poise and judgment,” Chief Justice Strine told The Deal. “She had a wisdom and common sense that belied her youth, and a deep intelligence and strong work ethic to match.”
Elected partner in January 2019, Ms. Broder focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, general company representation and securities law compliance. She represents public and private clients across multiple industries in a variety of transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, investments and other complex corporate transactions. Ms. Broder also regularly advises boards, founders and key stakeholders on corporate governance and other strategic matters.
